Role and Facility Information

The five physicians of Vancouver Island's West Coast are looking to recruit a Tofino or Ucluelet based primary care physician to join our highly rewarding, multi-clinic group practice.

For the first time on the Coast, we are looking to add a primary care physician (no ER or inpatient care required!) to our group. This clinician would be based primarily in Ucluelet, with flexibility around work schedule.

The Tonquin Medical Clinic and Ucluelet Medical Centre is are well-established clinics (40+ years), with a fully integrated EMR. As we are a single group of physicians, the clinics are well connected to the other clinics on the Coast and Tofino General Hospital. It is part of our new PCN planning for the Coast, with a commitment to the strengthening team-based care. In Summer of 2025, the Ucluelet Medical Centre will move into the brand new Ucluelet Health Centre (currently being built), which will co-locate Island Health services including Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Care Nursing, and Rehabilitation services

We are looking for a physician with core values of collaboration, diversity, and cultural safety. We are a very collegial group, and are supported by excellent nursing and ancillary health support (rehab, MSHU, Home & Community Care) from Island Health, Nuu chah nulth (NTC) Health Services, and other community partners. We have very close relationships with our community partners, and a very active and innovate Divisions Chapter (Rural and Remote Division, Long Beach Chapter)
