Island Health is hiring a casual Physiotherapist to work at Tofino General Hospital.
About the Position
As a Physiotherapist with Island Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Your clinical skills, leadership and compassion will make a direct impact on the wellbeing of the communities we serve.
You will have authority and responsibility for management and operation of the services in accordance with professional, hospital and Island Health objectives, policies and standards. You will be responsible for ascertaining, interpreting and implementing all institutional policies and procedures as they apply to the rehabilitation service.
Therapy services will be provided for inpatients and outpatients within the hospital setting and in the community. Services include assessment, treatment, consultation and education. You will work with other health care professionals, agencies and the community to provide enhanced patient care services including 'wellness' programs and community education related to health.
What You Will Need to Apply
- Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy.
- Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist.
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
- Knowledge of current physiotherapy modalities and scope of practice; knowledge of the processes related to continuous quality improvement; knowledge of business management practices related to the operations of hospital services.
- At least 5 years of recent, related experience; experience in rural/remote setting (or equivalent).
