Facility Details:

Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is a 160 bed acute care hospital serving the growing communities within the North Okanagan region of approximately 80,000 residents. The new 230,000 square foot Polson Tower at VJH offers a new and expanded Emergency department, Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, new Women’s and Children’s Services department, new operating theatres and medical device reprocessing department. Vernon Jubilee Hospital is also a satellite teaching hospital for the medical program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. Practice Details:

Fantastic opportunity for a general adult/child and adolescent Psychiatrist to join the expanding Psychiatry department at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Discover the rewards of career satisfaction working within a strong culture of teamwork while delivering excellence in care!

Our cohesive team of 9 dedicated and caring Psychiatrists provides service to VJH’s 17 bed inpatient psychiatry unit, consults to the medical/surgical units and the emergency department, as well as maintaining a community based practice. In this role you will enjoy a variety and broad diversity, working collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary teams in acute and community settings to provide a continuum of care across community and acute services in both general adult and child and adolescent services. In the community you will be an integral member of the mental health community team and provide outreach services in the North Okanagan region, extending from Vernon to Revelstoke.

VJH is affiliated with UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program and as such, you will have the opportunity to enjoy teaching medical students.

In addition to general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry, those interested in subspecialty practice areas such as addictions or developmental disability mental health services would also be welcomed.
