Role and Facility Information

Vancouver Coastal Health Public Health Program is seeking compassionate and experienced physicians to provide high-quality sexual health services on a sessional basis. This role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to offer confidential, inclusive, and non-judgmental care for individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.

Key responsibilities will include
• Provide assessment, testing, treatment, and counseling for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, and other related conditions. PrEP/PEP management.
• Offer reproductive health services, including contraception counseling, pregnancy options, medical abortions and referral for surgical abortion, and LARC insertion and removals.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Provide care that is inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally safe.
• Promote harm reduction, health equity, and low barrier access to care.

The Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 253 acute care bed facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. The City of Richmond is a unique island city located on Canada’s Pacific Coast, in close proximity to downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver International Airport and the U.S. border. Richmond is an ethnically diverse centre with a growing population and one of the fastest growing seniors population in the province.

Qualifications:
• MD or equivalent, licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the [Provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons].
• Certification in Family Medicine or relevant specialty is preferred.
• Experience or training in sexual health, LGBTQ2S+ health, harm reduction, or public health is an asset.
• Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to inclusive care practices.

CPSBC Full Licensure is required for a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident where immigration is required
