Role and Facility Information
Job Summary:
Delta Hospital is seeking two or more General Internists to join our close-knit, dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to practice the true, full breadth of community Internal Medicine. Here, you will enjoy a high level of clinical autonomy, a welcoming hospital culture known for its strong sense of community, and the rewarding impact of serving a diverse population of up to 150,000 residents, featuring a mix of families, individuals, and retirees.
The Role:
As the specialist on site, you will manage a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions, allowing you to utilize the complete spectrum of your general internal medicine training. While inpatient call days are comprehensive and demand full clinical commitment, this role offers exceptional flexibility in your overall practice design and monthly volume:
• Customizable Call Commitment: Choose the volume that fits your lifestyle. While a standard schedule is 3-6 inpatient call blocks per month, we welcome a range of commitments—from just a few blocks a month up to a full-time schedule. Call consists of 24-hour blocks involving daytime rounding/ward consults and overnight home-call availability.
• Overhead-Free Outpatient Care: Build your outpatient practice with zero overhead costs. Opportunities include our Rapid Access Clinic (RAC), Chest Pain Clinic, and morning stress testing.
• Acute Care: Managing ward consults and acute stabilization. Critical care skills are strongly recommended, along with a willingness to take full ownership of acutely ill patients.
The Community – The Best of Both Worlds:
Delta Hospital is a 65-bed community facility that offers the warmth, hospitality, and lifestyle of a close-knit community, paired with unbeatable proximity to major hubs. You are just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver, 15-20 minutes from Surrey and Richmond (home to YVR International Airport for easy global travel), and only 5 minutes from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal for quick escapes to Vancouver Island.
Qualifications:
• Candidates must be eligible for FRCPC registration or ABIM.
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
Compensation:
Combination of Alternative Payment Plan & Fee For Service, MOCAP - On Call Payments
