Northern Health is recruiting an Emergency Physician with current Emergency experience to join a dynamic and supportive medical community in the heart of British Columbia's Cariboo region in Quesnel, BC.

The department is seeking physicians with either a background or current training in emergency work. We have local training opportunities in place to support physicians seeking skills upgrading.

The successful applicant would be working from the new Emergency Department at GR Baker Memorial Hospital (GRBMH) and providing approx. 136 hours per month. Extra shifts are available as well as shifts at the Urgent Primary Care Clinic, co-located at the hospital.

There are 2 shifts per day: 0800-1800 and 1800-0800, with outstanding experienced nursing support, onsite Critical Care and General Surgery coverage, 24/7 Internal Medicine support as well as FP Anesthesia backup. Radiology & Diagnostic services include onsite 24/7 access to CT/ US, XR and laboratory services.

We welcome NEW to practice physicians and have several supports available to ensure that your transition into the community and practice is as smooth and as enjoyable as possible.

GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a 45 bed acute care facility. Services on-site include:

- Internal medicine

- Obstetrics and Gynecology

- Otolaryngology

- General Surgery

- Psychiatry

- Community Cancer Clinic

The 27 million dollar expansion to GR Baker Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit has now been completed and is open to the public. This expansion has improved patient flow, access to imaging and labs, security, privacy & confidentiality, and the alignment of critical care services and staff between the ED and ICU.
