Role and Facility Information

The Psychiatry department is seeking an Adult Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will be based at the Peace Arch Hospital Campus and White Rock/South Surrey Mental Health Centre.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with acquired brain injuries, as well as older adult patients served by the Fraser Health Mental Health team, within the interdisciplinary framework. This role involves actively engaging in outreach to patients' residences, and providing consultation to Assisted Living and Long-Term Care facilities in collaboration with patients' attending physicians.

Your duties will encompass various services including assessment, outpatient treatment, consultation, conducting family meetings, organizing case conferences, discharge planning, and educating geriatric psychiatry residents and medical students.

Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of care by fostering positive working relationships with all healthcare providers involved in patient care and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients.

Participation in the ECT roster and on-call duties is mandatory.

Compensation will be a combination of sessional work and fee-for-service, MOCAP on-call Psychiatry group payments.
