Role and Facility Information
A lively family practice clinic in the best Canadian town to work in. Declared a ‘Paradise for Seniors’, Qualicum Beach has the oldest population in Canada. As a community of mostly well-educated retirees who are very functional into their later decades, these patients are uniquely engaged, health literate, and particularly pleasant to provide primary care for because quality of life is of paramount importance. Just ask our most recent physician who has chosen to remain working in our clinic largely because of finding the patients ‘so delightful and spoiling to work with!’, compared to other communities.
Experience the improved patient care you can deliver by working at a clinic that has exceptional MOAs and a supportive on-site nurse, social worker, and clinical pharmacist through the PCN (not obligatory to join the PCN). Join 3 full-service family physicians that share a culture of team-oriented patient care and work-life balance. The clinic has the user-friendly MedAccess EMR. Overhead is an affordable even-split between clinic physicians. Out of office billings are not charged overhead.
Here, we encourage you to pursue your special interests to create a fulfilling practice that best fits your personal and professional goals. Current specific clinic interests and experience include maternity, women’s health, dermatology, geriatrics, MAiD, First Nations Health, and global health. In fact, this clinic is home to the only maternity physician in the Oceanside community, and 1 of the 2 local MAiD providers. Moreover, opportunities exist to participate in the walk-in medical clinic at Qualicum First Nation, a service founded by one of our clinic physicians. Local EM coverage, palliative care, LTC and DOD opportunities are readily available. Hospitalist and maternity privileges available at the nearby Comox or Nanaimo Regional General Hospital if desired.
This clinic is in the heart of a charming rural town and within walking distance to extensive hiking and biking trails as well as stunning waterfront. Enjoy the year-round Saturday farmer’s market and abundance of local shops to meet your needs. This safe, healthy community has excellent schools and endless recreational activity options. It has the benefit of a small town feel yet is close to a major city that has a regional airport and several large passenger and vehicle ferries to/from Vancouver (including a new rapid ferry).
