You are an experienced critical care Registered Nurse (RN) who is known for thinking on your feet, working collaboratively with team members, and truly loving your job. You’re looking to stretch your skills – and possibly get a change of scenery in the process – applicants are welcomed from across Canada as well as internationally. Working with BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) provides opportunities for advanced training along with the urban-outdoorsy lifestyle and coastal climate of British Columbia’s West Coast.

The PICU team is currently hiring RNs to join the September 2023 Advanced Pediatric Critical Care Specialty Training cohort. In addition, relocation assistance or work visa support may be available for successful candidates.

What you’ll do

RNs are vital members of the PICU team at BC Children’s Hospital. Together, multi-disciplinary team members work in a culture of collaboration and mutual respect while delivering compassionate, family-centred care to patients and their families from across British Columbia. The team works from the Hudson Family Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a state-of-the-art facility outfitted with 28 private patient rooms. These large, spacious rooms provide more space for equipment and large teams of health providers to care for our young patients and for their family to be present throughout their care. Along with providing excellent patient care, RNs will enjoy the benefits of being part of BCCH, a leader in general and specialized pediatric services in Canada, and the province’s foremost teaching and research facility for child health.

What you bring

Completed of a certified nursing program and current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)

1 year of recent related experience in critical care specialty

CPR Training – Basic Cardia Life Support (BCLS) – Level 1

Job Type: Full-time Regular

Wage: $40.21/hr - $57.78/hr

Hours of Work: 12-hour rotating shifts
