Position Summary
Within the context of a patient and family-centered model of care, and in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values and strategic directions of Providence Health Care (“Providence”), the Division of Gastroenterology is seeking a pancreaticobiliary gastroenterologist at Providence Health Care.
The successful candidate will join a group of gastroenterologists and hepatologists who are members of the Division of Gastroenterology at Providence Health and the University of British Columbia. The group practices from a shared office space and performs endoscopic procedures at St. Paul’s Hospital and Mt. St. Joseph’s Hospital. On call and administrative responsibilities are shared amongst the group. Participation in teaching of learners and participation in continuous quality improvement initiatives are required. Participation and leadership in research are required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have successfully achieved Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology and be eligible for a full license to practice gastroenterology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Additional training in therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy from an established training program is required for a minimum of two years. Formal training in research as evidenced by a related master’s degree with ongoing clinical research experience is required.
