Are you looking for a part-time family medicine practice in one of BC's most beautiful communities? Come join our dynamic and collegial group of 13 family physicians in rural Gibsons, BC, located a short ferry ride away from Vancouver on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Our spacious modern clinic has been fully electronic since 1997 and we have been using Med Access EMR since 2008.
You will be sharing a practice with one of our docs who does family practice and emergency department work. We would be looking for approximately two weeks of clinic coverage per month. Overhead is competitive and proportional to billings. The structure of the practice share is negotiable and there is flexibility to fit your needs and interests.
If you are interested, there are also opportunities in the community for weekend inpatient care, long term facility care, emergency room work (on an APP contract), high school student outreach, and surgical assists, as well as palliative care, and our local opioid replacement clinic. You would be expected to obtain hospital privileges, but inpatient coverage is not required.
Our community is well supported by local specialists, including General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. Our hospital has on-site Radiologists Monday through Friday, with after hours support provided by Lions Gate Hospital. Local imaging modalities include x-ray, ultrasound (including echocardiography), and CT. We also have visiting specialist support from Dermatology, ENT (adult & peds), Nephrology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Physiatry, Respirology, Rheumatology, and Urology. Our local ambulatory care unit also provides chemotherapy with the support of Internal Medicine and a local GP Oncologist. Being relatively close to Vancouver, our community also enjoys good access to specialist services in the rest of the Lower Mainland.
