Role and Facility Information

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) has an immediate opportunity for a Pediatrician to join the Department of Pediatrics at the North Island Comox Valley Hospital in the oceanfront community of Comox.

The North Island Comox Valley Hospital is a beautiful facility that opened in October 2017. There are 153 inpatient beds and the hospital serves a population of approximately 66,000 people, and is a referral center for some surgical specialties. In addition to Pediatrics, there are a broad range of consultants including Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urology, Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, Radiology and Family Medicine.

The successful candidate will share call (1:4)

We have an academic affiliation with the University of British Columbia (UBC) postgraduate programs and are a teaching hospital. We have a Family Practice Residency Program and are involved in both medical student and residency teaching

• Fee Premium - 6.93%
• Annual Flat Fee - $10,739.52
• Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
• Relocation Costs - up to a maximum of $15,000
• Rural CME: Years 3 & 4 - $3000/annum; after 4 years: $6000/annum
