Role and Facility Information
If you’re a stroke neurologist, come for a locum at Kelowna General Hospital, the regional centre for acute stroke and TIA care.
As the main referral hub for Interior Health with a catchment of approximately 1 million people, our stroke program manages about 2,000 acute ischemic strokes each year and performs over 120 endovascular procedures. We have achieved some of the best outcomes in Canada and have a long history of using virtual care to support patients across the region.
You will have access to high‑end neuroimaging, including a new 3T MRI and increased MRI capacity that improves brain imaging quality and turnaround times, a dedicated high‑speed CT scanner in the Emergency Department, and on‑site EEG/EMG. You will provide acute stroke assessment and management in the Emergency Department, along with inpatient consults and follow‑up for hospitalized patients.
If your ideal day starts with a paddle and ends on the trails, this locum could be a great fit for a mini‑vacation or a trial run for a permanent position at KGH.
