Midway is a welcoming village in the Boundary region of Southern British Columbia, located along Highway 3 between Osoyoos and Grand Forks. Midway is equidistant between the Okanagan and the West Kootenays. Known for its scenic surroundings, friendly community, and relaxed pace while being less than an hour from the nearest hospital in Grand Forks and in the other direction the vineyards of Osoyoos. Midway is approximately 2 hours from Kelowna, Penticton, and Rossland/Trail for city life, shopping and wineries! The Village offers a true small-town experience; strong community connections and surprising amenities usually found in a larger centre.

The region is well-known for its outdoor lifestyle and sunny climate. Recreational opportunities abound, including 2 Tennis/Pickleball courts, the Kettle Valley Golf Club, an NHL sized arena, mountain bike trails, Kettle Valley Railway trails (Midway is Mile 0 on the KVR), well maintained hiking trails, cross country skiing, and a newly designed Disc Golf course. Visitors and locals enjoy kayaking, canoeing, floating, fly fishing and camping at the popular Midway Campsite on the Kettle River which flows right through town! Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing is also available at Christina Lake or Osoyoos Lake a mere hour away.
Winter provides access to downhill skiing at Mount Baldy or the Phoenix Ski Hill within an hour. In addition, a two hour drive offers Big White in Kelowna, Silver Star Resort in Penticton or Red Mountain Resort in Rossland! It’s an ideal location for practitioners seeking meaningful community impact without sacrificing lifestyle quality.
Midway Medical Clinic provides primary care services to the local population and surrounding rural area. The clinic works collaboratively with the local Interior Health facility and the Community Paramedic to support patient needs. You will be part of a small multidisciplinary team that values accessibility, collegiality, continuity, and patient-centred care. The Clinic has established a reputation for being a warm and welcoming space over its 35 years of serving the area.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated, community-focused Nurse Practitioner to join the team at Midway Medical Clinic. This role will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in a rural setting, with the opportunity to shape the delivery of healthcare in the village.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, adaptable provider who thrives in smaller communities and values holistic, collaborative care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide longitudinal primary care within your full scope of practice.
Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, and prevent acute and chronic conditions.
Prescribe medications and order/interact with diagnostic tests within regulatory scope.
Deliver health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
Coordinate care across community resources and with regional health services.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
Engage with community partners and support population health initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a BCCNM-approved Nurse Practitioner program (Master’s or equivalent).
Current active Nurse Practitioner registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Strong commitment to rural health care and community-oriented practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small health care team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Village supported private clinical practice in a rural, community-focused setting established in 1994.
Collaborative team which includes one part-time physician, a long term experienced medical office assistant, and an RN currently on Mat leave.
Cooperative relationship with Interior Health, Division of Family Practice, Boundary Health Care Cooperative and local Medical Clinics.
Hours of Work:
Typically aligned with regular clinic hours, with flexibility for community needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive remuneration based on primary care network (PCN) rates, which are currently Relocation support and professional development opportunities may be available.
