Located just over two hours from Kelowna, Greenwood provides easy access to the Okanagan Valley's wineries and lakes. You’ll be joining a collegial team of practitioners and knowledgeable, experienced staff. Greenwood Medical Clinic has one physician, part-time nursing and social work. There are 3 exam rooms and our administrative staff includes an office manager. Our EMR is Intrahealth Profile.
As a member of the practice, you’ll have a lot of independence and control over your schedule, leaving you a lot of time to enjoy all the benefits of working in a small community. For tertiary medical needs, the Boundary District Hospital in Grand Forks is approximately 42 km (about 30 minutes) away with a 25/7 emergency department and inpatient care beds, ensuring essential medical services are within easy reach. Greenwood Medical Clinic is part of the Kootenay Boundary Primary Care Network (KB PCN), which is a partnership between the Ministry of Health, Interior Health, the Kootenay Boundary Division of Family Practice, and Aboriginal Partners. All aspects of the clinic are aligned with delivery of culturally competent care.

The Nurse Practitioner will deliver the full scope of primary health care services for their panel of patients (rural panel goal is 800 patients pro-rated for FTE), including but not limited to:

Health promotion and illness prevention services;
Primary care for minor or episodic illnesses;
Chronic disease management;
Management and coordination of patient care across the spectrum of care (i.e. referral to specialists and other providers, case management, case conferences and acting upon consultative advice);
Primary reproductive care;
Cultural safe care for all patients but especially aboriginal patients;
Primary mental health and substance use (MHSU) services;
Support for the terminally ill;
Coordination and access to rehabilitation;
Multidisciplinary team planning for the ongoing health needs of patients.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader who takes initiative, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has the following skills and experience:
Current provisional/practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP);
Relevant clinical nursing experience, including clinical knowledge and real passion for providing quality, compassionate care to motivate and inspire others.;
Strong understanding of provision of culturally safe care for patients;
