The Fort St John Family Practice Associates Clinic is seeking locums to work in a family practice based, privately owned medical clinic. Please contact the clinic with your availability regarding a short- or long-term locum at josie@fsjmedicalclinic.com.

ABOUT OUR CLINIC

We are a youthful, vibrant and supportive group consisting of 5 practices and 6 staff members. You will find yourself working in a modern, fully furnished, well established clinic. Each physician has their own office, 2 exam rooms and a shared procedure room. We have an in-house NP, LPN’s, dietician, social worker, mental health clinicians, respiratory therapist, pharmacist and home care support who work alongside to provide team-based care together. EMR system MOIS.

FALL BONUS:

Locum coverage is currently needed for the period October 1st – December 31st, 2025. We are pleased to offer a $15,000 bonus payable to locums committing to this period.

REGULAR REMUNERATION

• $1000 travel stipend available to locums committing to 4 weeks or longer.

• Hourly rate = $240.00 / hour

• Remuneration for regular clinic hours worked:

3 days/week = $20,160 / month

4 days/week = $26,880 / month

5 days/week = $33,600 / month

• A regular clinic day generally consists of 7 hours. There is flexibility to see patients in-person and some virtually.

• Locums are also paid an extra 1.5 hours ($360.00) each weekday to compensate for admin related tasks which equates to an additional $7200.00 / month, paid on top of regular clinic hours worked.

• Remuneration is TAKE-HOME. There is no overhead payable or split due, with no expenses deducted from physicians. Locums are paid consistently via direct deposit every 2 weeks.

The clinic operates on an alternate payment model, namely Population Based Funding.

There is opportunity to generate extra revenue through services performed outside the clinic such as ER, OR, Prenatal, Hospital Inpts, Anesthetics, etc. This is all billed privately, and locums keep 100% of these earnings.

ABOUT FORT ST JOHN

With a population of 23,000 and growing Fort St. John is the largest city in Northeastern BC with daily direct flights to global-hub airports Vancouver and Calgary.

You can enjoy a variety of activities from camping, hiking golfing, pickleball, tennis, baseball, fishing, numerous walking trails and lakeside fun in the summer…..to sledding, ice fishing, hockey and cross-country skiing in the winter.

We have in-town specialists including general surgery, internal medicine, OB/GYN, psychiatry, orthopedics, pediatrics plus a visiting specialist clinic including dermatology, ophthalmology, and rheumatology. There are also various other specialists available within the region of Northern BC.
