Your opportunity to join in building a new Orthopaedic service in Fort St. John, British Columbia, a vibrant and growing city of 23,000! We are seeking an Orthopaedic Surgeon with skills in Shoulder, Foot & Ankle, Sports Injuries, Primary THA, Primary TKA, and Community-Level Trauma. You would also run a fracture clinic once a week. Fort St John has a young and active population - the average age is 32!
There is presently one Ortho in Fort St. John and one Ortho in Dawson Creek (70 km away).
Fort St. John Hospital is a new state-of-the-art 55 bed hospital serving a population of approximately 23,000, and is one of two hospitals serving a catchment area of approximately 70,000. The facility offers services including diagnostics, surgery, acute care, ICU, maternity, a community cancer centre, community hemodialysis, visiting specialists clinic, and a prenatal clinic.
Local specialists include General Surgery, General Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry, Radiology and Pathology. Visiting specialists include Ophthalmology, ENT, and Neurology.

Fort St. John has seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one private school (Kindergarten to Grade 12). Northern Lights College and the University of Northern British Columbia provide post-secondary education in Fort St John.
The region's main industries are agriculture, forestry, natural gas, construction, and transportation.
