Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is seeking locum physicians to work in the Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre Emergency Department in Burns Lake, British Columbia.

Income Guarantee - includes FFS, MOCAP, RRP, and REEF:
Weekday: $5,504/24 hr. shift (assumed 18 hrs. on-site)
Weekend: $5,812/24 hr. shift (assumed 18 hrs. on-site)

Locum travel and accommodation will be covered. Travel stipend: $250.00-$1500.00 based on time.

The Lakes District Hospital and Health Centre is a 16-bed facility that sees an average of 12,000 ER visits per year. The services include x-ray, laboratory, ultrasound, pharmacy, rehabilitation, palliative care, acute care, public health, and home and community care. Obstetric services are not provided in this community, with deliveries accommodated in nearby Vanderhoof or Prince George.

Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4828 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. The small community has so much to offer in the way of beautiful scenery and choice of summer and winter activities from world class mountain biking trails, endless hiking, and Olympic quality cross-country skiing.
