Role and Facility Information

Fraser Health Authority (FHA) and the Mental Health and Substance Use Program are seeking a psychiatrist. This position involves a combination of Inpatient Psychiatry at Chilliwack General Hospital and Community Psychiatry in the Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope Communities, with a primary focus on adult psychiatry.

As a member of multidisciplinary teams across all sites, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to general psychiatric patients. Your duties will include assessment, treatment, and consultation, as well as conducting family meetings, participating in case conferences, facilitating discharge planning, and collaborating with other physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in promoting continuity of care by fostering positive working relationships with all involved in patient care and advocating for the psychiatric needs of individual patients. Responsibilities also include participation in the ECT and on-call rotation.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the medical education program for University of British Columbia (UBC) undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. Upon receiving a CPSBC license, arrangements will be made to apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Psychiatry, UBC.
