Role and Facility Information

Crawford Bay:
Located on Highway 3A on the eastern shores of Kootenay Lake, Crawford Bay is a unique community that attracts artisans, nature lovers and tourists alike. The village is encased largely by forest and its downtown is mostly comprised of artisan shops earning Crawford Bay the moniker "Artistic by Nature." Attracting creative souls, visitors can witness glass blowing, broom-making, copper enamelling, blacksmithing and weaving.

Along with its charming downtown, it is also home to the Kokanee Golf Resort, a championship 18-hole golf course with on-site accommodations and the opportunity for wildlife spotting, from deer to eagles to bears. Crawford Bay is also graced with a beautiful, sandy beach and marina inviting visitors to take a dip in Kootenay Lake's gloriously warm summer waters. Or venture a few miles from town to explore nearby attractions such as the Glass House at Boswell, Yasodhara Ashram in Kootenay Bay, or the Ainsworth Hot Springs on the west side of Kootenay Lake. Crawford Bay is also home to a historic fall fair that dates back to 1910 and features a juried display of produce and homemade goods. Or get a little groovy at the Starbelly Jam, a music festival with something for the whole family. Activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and even snowmobiling in winter gives even more reason to visit Crawford Bay.
