Specialty Nurse Practitioner

Role and Facility Information

The Central Interior Rural Division of Family Practice PCN is seeking dynamic Nurse Practitioners for permanent full-time and/or part-time opportunities serving seven communities in the Chilcotin region through a collaborative, shared practice model. A total of 1.0 FTE is available. Successful candidates will have the unique opportunity to select their preferred FTE, offering strong flexibility to align with personal and professional goals.

Nurse Practitioners in the Chilcotin region will together provide full-scope primary health care services. This practice has a focus on Indigenous populations as five of the communities are part of the Tsilhqot’in Nation – Tl’esqox/Toosey, Yunesit’in/Stone, Xeni Gwet’in/Nemiah, Tl’etinqox/Anaham and Yunesit’in/Stone – as well as the two communities of Alexis Creek and Tatla Lake. The practice will be shared between two or more Nurse Practitioners, providing virtual care (telephone, Zoom) as well as in-person clinics in each community with room for significant schedule flexibility.

You will work in collaboration with:
• Various community agencies
• Indigenous communities and leadership
• Multidisciplinary health care services

Comprehensive care is delivered with a strong emphasis on holistic patient centered health care that is delivered in a cultural safety manner.

Qualifications:
• Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
• Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience
• Valid driver’s licence
