Imagine being part of a cohesive team of 11 passionate emergency physicians, collectively managing approximately 17,000 patient visits per year. As the regional Trauma and ICU Referral Centre, we handle complex cases that will test and expand your skills and expertise. Our patient demographic is diverse, covering pediatrics to geriatrics, mental health, trauma, and various medical and surgical scenarios, ensuring a rich and fulfilling patient care experience.

We are equipped with state-of-the-art onsite medical imaging facilities, including CT and MRI, providing you with the tools and support necessary to excel in emergency medicine. Collaborating with an incredible team of allied health professionals—from mental health and substance use nurses to physiotherapists and round-the-clock respiratory therapists—you’re well-supported to deliver exemplary care.

As an emergency medicine physician in Trail, you can expect total compensation of around $250,000 to $400,000, determined by a fee-for-service payment structure, MOCAP level 1, and a bonus of $550 per night shift.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Relocation Funding Available
$9,000 if moving within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada
Recruitment Incentive
$15,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time.
Other Benefits/Incentives
With RCME, you’ll be eligible to receive $440 for up to 2 years in Trail, $2,640 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $4,840 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
