Practice Details:

The KBRH ICU group is currently recruiting for a part-time/full-time Critical Care position, 9-14 weeks per year. We are a 7-bed unit that functions both as a full-service ICU as well as HAU/CCU. We are currently provide a week of coverage at a time, with two nights cross covered per week.

The successful applicant is expected to:
• Provide 24/7 coverage for 9-14 weeks per year, evenly spaced throughout the year. During coverage, it is required to be in close proximity to the hospital at all times.
• Permanently relocate full-time to the West Kootenay region, to encourage participation in a regular cross coverage schedule and contribute to medical staff and community. Must reside within 30 minutes of KBRH while on ICU call.
• Teach medical students and residents during their ICU rotations.
• Participate in administrative work and quality improvement projects, to continuously improve the quality of our ICU.
• Potentially be able to provide additional services to the region, depending on their base specialty. There are currently openings in general internal medicine, and ED.
