The Island Health Division of Hematology is recruiting a Hematologist to join the Island-Wide program. The clinical responsibilities are to provide both inpatient consultative hematology services for the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital as well as outpatient hematology service to the Central and North Island through an established community-based clinic.
The successful candidate will have a flexible vision and excellent benign and malignant hematology skills. It is expected the candidate will embrace the full scope of Hematology work, including a part-time position at BC Cancer to assess and manage patients with lymphoma, myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndrome.
Research and medical education opportunities are available. The Division of Hematology and BC Cancer is affiliated with the University of British Columbia, and this position includes clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
There is a large catchment area served by the Division – we are responsible for the referral population of approximately 800,000
