Role and Facility Information
The Nanaimo Palliative Care Physicians Group with Island Health is looking for part-time Palliative Care Physicians. The positions will work in a variety of clinical settings including a tertiary palliative care unit, hospice, community and outpatient clinics.
Description of role:
This role is flexible and the area of coverage will be determined as needs dictate, but preferences are strongly considered. It may include:
-Provision of palliative care consults in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital
-Provision of duties of MRP within a tertiary palliative care unit
-Provision of outpatient and home visit palliative care consults within the Nanaimo area (driver’s license and car are required)
-Provision of outpatient consults and follow up visits to marginalized vulnerable populations, including individuals with comorbid life-threatening illness and homelessness, mental health and addiction
-Participation in the Nanaimo Palliative on-call schedule proportional to FTE, as required
-Teaching and supervision of medical learners (requires eligibility for faculty appointment with UBC)
