Role and Facility Information

The Victoria Mental Health and Substance Use program are looking for an Addiction Medicine, Family Physician to provide part-time services at the Coastal Sage Health Centre (CSHC). The CSHC is a 6 bed facility that provides services to women and people identifying as women, with problematic substance use, seeking residential treatment.

The successful candidate will provide the following services: act as the MRP including reviewing all new patients, physical exam and medical care plans; routine follow-up of OAT and AUD patients regarding medications, monitoring; routine pre-natal, postpartum and gyne care; consultations and administration of contraception, and STI diagnosis and treatment; follow-up for chronic medical conditions; consultation for new, acute or emerging conditions; assessment, treatment and monitoring of substance use disorders; gender-affirming care; management of pre-existing chronic conditions; liaising with psychiatrist re: complex mental health care plans

The successful candidate will work closely with other physician groups including: connect with in-house psychiatrist during weekly meetings and as-needed; liaise with hospital, maternity ward, RAAC, 5A, community addiction clinics etc as needed for continuity of care and discharge planning

The successful candidate is required to be on-call, for pharmacy OAT prescriptions. Methadone license is required.
