Role and Facility Information

Island Health’s Division of Anatomical Pathology has an opportunity for one Anatomical Pathologist to join the team at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia.

You have a Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or its equivalent) and are eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. You are an excellent diagnostician with superb interpersonal and collaborative abilities. You have expertise and fellowship experience in gynecological pathology. Additional subspecialty experience in the other surgical subspecialties would be considered an asset. Minimum of 5 years experience is preferred. Participation in the group coverage of frozen section and on-call services is also required. You will be an essential member of the BC Cancer Gynecological Oncology service, including contributing to local rounds. A commitment to teaching is also expected, as you will mentor students of the Island Medical Program at the University of Victoria, residents and physicians from a variety of programs.

In this position, you will be eligible for appointment in the Island Health Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics, and as an Associate of the Victoria Pathology Consulting Corporation. You may also apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia.
