Role and Facility Information

The Division of Dermatology of the Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking Dermatologists to join their group in the community of Duncan.

Dermatologic services on Vancouver Island are currently provided in the cities of Courtenay, Nanaimo and Victoria. In the Cowichan Valley the patient population is quite varied (drawing population 85,000) with emphasis on seniors and First Nations. The medical community is close-knit and supportive. Local services include excellent general and plastic surgery expertise. The commute to Victoria is approximately 1 hour.

Dermatologists would be expected to establish or join existing private practices and would be eligible to apply for consulting privileges at Cowichan District Hospital.

Additional incentives available under Rural Subsidiary Agreement (subject to eligibility) include:

Recruitment Incentive: $10,000;

Annual Retention Premium: $6,508.80

Fee-for-service premium: 4.2%;

CME: Years 3 & 4: $3,000/annum After 4 years: $6,000/annum.
