Role and Facility Information

Island Health’s Department Pathology, Laboratory Medicine & Medical Genetics has an opportunity for a permanent part time (0.5 FTE) Medical Geneticist to join their team at the Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia.

The successful candidate will hold a Fellowship in Medical Genetics with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have a full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. The successful candidate will be an excellent diagnostician with superlative interpersonal and collaborative abilities. While primary duties could be in one or more subspecialty areas, the ability to provide broad Medical Genetics consultation inclusive of prenatal services, dysmorphology and other familial and rare diseases is essential. There are opportunities to provide outreach clinics in a range of communities across Vancouver Island. A commitment to teaching is also required, as you will mentor students of the UBC Island Medical Program, and students and residents from other programs.
