We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at The Summit at Quadra Village, working on a unique long-term care unit supporting adults and seniors with complex mental health and substance use needs.
As the Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in shaping and advancing therapeutic programming on the unit. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to define and grow the OT role in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The work is meaningful, relationship-based, and at times challenging—requiring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting people where they’re at.
What You’ll Do
- Support residents through individualized OT assessment and intervention
- Develop and lead therapeutic groups and psychosocial programming
- Help residents engage in meaningful activities and work toward personal goals
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team
- Contribute to program development in a non-traditional long-term care setting
What You'll Need
- Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
- Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist.
- Two years of recent, related experience.
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
Who You Are
- An Occupational Therapist with experience in adult mental health
- Comfortable working within a harm reduction approach
- Skilled in navigating complex and sometimes unpredictable situations
- Interested in program development and shaping how care is delivered
- Grounded, collaborative, and able to build strong therapeutic relationships
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to do impactful work with a population that is often underserved in traditional care models. You’ll have the space to bring your clinical expertise, creativity, and initiative to a role where you can truly make a difference.
This role is well-suited to a clinician who values autonomy, is motivated to build and improve systems of care, and is energized by working with individuals whose needs may not fit traditional long-term care models.
