Role and Facility Information

The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging in Duncan is seeking a fulltime Radiologist for the Cowichan District Hospital (CDH). With a new hospital planned to open in 2027, and expansion of radiologic services, this position provides a unique and exciting opportunity to participate in designing and optimizing both a hospital and imaging department.

The successful candidate will have proficiency in CT, US, MRI, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, BMD and basic interventional procedures as well as:

Flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with and contribute to a small group practice of 7 Radiologist.

MRI or MSK would be an asset.

Willingness to share in administrative roles and future leadership of the group.

Interest in living in the local island community.

Training in or a willingness to train in CT Cardiac Coronary Angiography and CT Colonography.

Preference for lifestyle based practice, with abundant vacation time and flexibility, but willingness to increase workload as needed.

Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.

Start date: July 1, 2024

Benefits:

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement(RSA) including:

relocation cost reimbursements to a maximum of $15,000;

recruitment incentive $10,000

Fee Premium 4.20%

Annual flat fee $6,373.80

Rural CME starting at $3,000/annum in years 3 &4 increasing to a maximum of $6,000/annum after 4 years.
