Role and Facility Information

Join our dynamic team in the beautiful Cowichan Valley! We are seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon for a three-to-six-month locum position starting in July 2025 (duration of locum and start time negotiable) with flexible Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) ranging from 0.5 to 1.0.

Key Responsibilities:

Elective Surgery: 1-2 days per week
Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinic (Cast Clinic): 1 day per week
Office Work: 1-2 days per week
On-call Responsibilities: 1 in 5 weekends and 5 days per month.
Preferred Qualifications

Subspecialty interest in Sports Knee, Sports Shoulder, and Shoulder Arthroplasty preferred.
Alternate subspecialty interest in Foot and Ankle will be considered.
About Cowichan District Hospital

The Cowichan District Hospital, a 134-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. It provides full-service orthopaedic surgery care as a Level 2 Centre, excluding pelvic trauma, hand trauma, and spine trauma. Our multidisciplinary team covers all orthopaedic subspecialties, including Upper Extremity, Sports-Shoulder, Total Joint (Hip & Knee), Foot & Ankle, and Extremity Trauma, with the exception of Spine. Work alongside experienced colleagues in a collaborative, supportive environment.
