Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)

• Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy program

• A valid British Columbia driver's license may be required for some positions

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized physiotherapy treatments to improve mobility, function, and quality of life.

• Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers in treatment plans, exercise programs, and use of mobility aids.

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication across services.

• Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress using computerized health record systems in line with professional standards.

• Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and departmental goals.

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and education to colleagues, students, and other healthcare professionals.

• Maintain equipment, supplies, and a safe, organized work environment.

• Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current clinical knowledge and skills.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

New World-Class Hospital

Currently under construction on the unceded traditional territory of the Quw’utsun People (Cowichan Tribes), the new Cowichan District Hospital is a testament to the deep partnerships and respectful collaboration that make the Cowichan Valley an exceptional place to live, work and learn. Slated to open in 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will be three times the size of the current hospital, with capacity for 204 beds. It will be British Columbia's first fully electric hospital, built to LEED Gold standards for environmental sustainability.

Designed with input from staff, patients, and Indigenous partners, the new hospital will offer an improved patient experience and promote provider wellness while maintaining a strong connection to the natural surroundings through thoughtful, healing design.
