Role and Facility Information

We are seeking General Internal Medicine specialists for locum work in Prince Rupert, BC.
Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 25 bed facility offering a full range of services including: Emergency, Radiology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry.

This Internal Medicine opportunity is mostly clinic based with consults from the ER while on call. There is CT, Echo and stress testing is available. There is no ICU in Prince Rupert, but there are 2 High Acuity beds and patients requiring a higher level of care are transferred to Terrace or Prince George.

A typical locum assignment would include: booked consults, ER consults, inpatient consults, and care of post operative patients. The visiting specialist clinic is located in the hospital for easy access to treadmill stress testing.

The local GPs are supportive and capable. There is a (GP) doctor of the day program that looks after hospital inpatients.

We provide a daily guaranteed income of $3000, averaged over the locum duration. For example, for a 5 day locum the minimum compensation is $15,000. Travel costs are covered and we would be delighted to assist in booking.
