Hospital and Community Clinic Details
Invermere & District Hospital is a Level 1 rural hospital with a modern, well-equipped 12-bed Emergency Department and an 8-bed acute care unit. Closely located to two long-term care facilities, it provides a full spectrum of care in a collaborative and supportive setting.
Invermere is home to two well-established, full-service, team-based family practice clinics, Invermere Medical Clinic (6 physicians) and Chisel Peak Medical Clinic (7 physicians) offer longitudinal care supported by allied health professionals including RNs, chronic disease nurse, dietitian, respiratory therapist, pharmacist, midwives, mental wellness clinician and social worker.
Your Practice
We are currently seeking a full or part-time Family Physician to join our medical community. Start date is flexible and we’re happy to work with you to create a schedule that meets your needs and aligns with your professional interests.
• Clinic work: Full EMR, collaborative team environment, billing support
• Emergency: Share in ED call coverage (1:9), 1 in 4 weekends
• Inpatient and Long-Term Care: Shared responsibility with flexible scheduling
• Teaching: Opportunity to mentor UBC medical students and residents – a rewarding part of our medical community
Physicians in Invermere describe the Emergency Department as one of the most supportive in East Kootenay, with excellent local and regional backup. Professionally and financially rewarding, the Emergency work includes MOCAP and REEF rural incentives.
Hours & Compensation
• Clinic: Full and part-time, flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
• Emergency Department: Approximately one 12-hour shift per week (1:9 rotation)
• Compensation:
o Clinic: several compensation contracts to choose from + 20.02% rural premium
o ER: APP + MOCAP + REEF
o Estimated gross income: $400,000+ per year for full-time
o Overhead: includes billing and accounting services
