We invite you to join our well established family practice in Fort. St. James. Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician to fill a full-time position.

You will be joining a group of Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners working in an Alternative Payment Plan. This is a shared care practice model, providing primary care services to the 5000 patient population in the communities of Fort St. James, Nak’azdli Whut’en, Tl’azt’en Nation and Binche Whut’en.

The Fort St. James Health Centre offers a wide range of primary care services that include: preventive medicine, care of chronic illnesses and the treatment of acute or serious issues. Our team of physicians also deliver care to the patients at Stuart Lake Hospital. The hospital is a 12-bed facility offering emergency services, acute care, ambulatory care services and a full range of diagnostic services. In addition, it is home to an extended care unit for elderly residents.

NEW HOSPITAL and HEALTH CENTRE coming soon!!! Construction is underway with the new hospital and will be three times larger than the current facility with 27 beds, including 18 long-term care beds. There will be an emergency department with two treatment rooms, a trauma bay and ambulance bay. A laboratory and diagnostic imaging will also be part of the new facility. The hospital will include a PRIMARY CARE CENTRE that will consolidate services currently being offered in Fort St. James to one location and will be home to primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, visiting specialists, and the inter-professional team.
