Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is seeking a Physiatrist to provide service at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia, in Prince George, BC. The selected candidate will join an exceptionally compatible and united group of physicians who are encouraged to explore their full practice potential in our University Hospital Medical School setting.

The hospital provides tertiary rehabilitation services in both highly developed inpatient and outpatient areas across the spectrum of rehab services including:

• Stroke

• Brain Injury

• Amputee

• Multi-trauma

• Complex Orthopaedics

• Psychiatry

• Medical sub-specialty areas

Well informed interdisciplinary teams are functioning at a high level, and current with developments in

• Stroke Rehabilitation

• Physiotherapy

• Occupational Therapy

• Speech Language Pathology

• Social Work

• Recreation Therapy

• Chronic Pain Clinic

Related Health services include:

• UHNBC Northern Centre for Functional Rehabilitation

• MS Clinic

• Geriatric Assessment and Treatment Unit

• Memory Disorders Clinic

• Spiritual Health

• Pre-admission clinics for elective surgeries

• Post Physiotherapy Clinics for TKR

• Outpatient Physiotherapy

• Outpatient Occupational therapy services such as burn treatments and splinting

• Outpatient Neuro Services.

On-call requirements are consultative secondary call with a fully developed Family Physician service.
