Role and Facility Information

OPPORTUNITY:

Northern Health is seeking a Radiologist with expertise in General Radiology and Breast Imaging for a flexible hybrid position at UHNBC in Prince George, BC.

SCHEDULE AND SCOPE:

• 3 weeks on/1 week off rotation per month including:

o 1 week per month of breast imaging work onsite in our dedicated Breast Imaging Clinic, including:

 Diagnostic mammography

 Breast ultrasound

 Image-guided breast biopsies

 Small volume of CT, MR and Xray work daily

 Optional: Screening mammography, Breast MRI

o 2 weeks per month of general diagnostic radiology work which can be onsite or remote (from within British Columbia)

• 12-16 weeks off per year

• Onsite coverage at GR Baker Hospital (Quesnel, BC) approximately one day every 2-3 months

• Call duties are shared equitably amongst radiology group 1 in 7

ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT:

• 2 CT scanners, 1.5T Siemens MRI, US, mammography (with tomosynthesis), Xray, fluoroscopy, IR, nuclear medicine, BMD

• AGFA EI PACS and PS360 voice dictation

ABOUT UHNBC:

UHNBC is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving the population of Prince George (approx. 80,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approx. 400,000). It is the main teaching center for medical students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. The BC Cancer Centre for the North is located on the hospital site and includes radiation and medical oncology.

ABOUT PRINCE GEORGE:

Prince George, the largest city in northern British Columbia, is nestled at the crossroads of the Fraser and Nechako rivers. The city offers the charm and ease of a close-knit community with the amenities of an urban centre.

The city is surrounded by forests, rivers, lakes and mountains and is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. In the summer, kayaking, fishing, hiking and biking opportunities abound with fantastic cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The Prince George airport offers year-round direct flights to Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna and Calgary with direct flights in the winter to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
