Role and Facility Information

Full service family practice on the beautiful Quadra Island, is seeking a full-scope full-time physician. Clinic is conveniently located a 10 minute ferry ride from Campbell River (approximately 35,000 residents), physicians have the option of living in on Quadra Island or in Campbell River. Minor surgical skills desired since in a rural community. There is no requirement to be on call for hospital inpatient care, emergency medicine, or long term care services in Campbell River, though the option is available. Clinic does provide urgent care and stabilization to patients requiring hospital care via ambulance. Maternity care is also offered in Campbell River, but we share communications with the mid-wives.

Overhead

$75,000 per year if NTP Contract or 25% for FFS or LFP

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

Recruitment Incentive: $10,000 (full-time)

Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)

Fee Premium: 9.98%

Annual Flat Fee: $15,458.40

Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum after two years in community, increasing to a maximum of $4,400 after four years.

Rural GP Locum Program provides $1275/day to locum physician with 43 days/annum locum coverage to resident physician.

Community Information

An amazing and supportive community of approximately 3,500 people year-round, and a very popular tourist/seasonal destination for hiking, biking, rock climbing, camping, fishing, boating and wildlife/whale watching. Rebecca Spit Marine Park is a big draw with trails, large playing field, and view of Drew Harbour where many boats moor in the summer. Quadra Island has an elementary school, a library, a large community centre for cultural and group events, a new indoor gym, and a golf course. We also have many active social groups including choir/theatre, fitness, meditation, and yoga. We have a full ambulance service and a local volunteer fire department with first responders. We are located very close to the ferry terminal, and physicians have the option to live either on Quadra Island, or in the nearby city of Campbell River, which is only a 10 minute ferry ride away.
