ANATOMIC PATHOLOGIST – BRITISH COLUMBIA Dr. C.J. Coady Associates

Full-time positions for Anatomic Pathologist at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) are available within the integrated practice of Dr. C. J. Coady Associates. The successful candidate will join a team of 13 anatomic pathologists providing general Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology services. The ideal candidate must have excellent general Surgical Anatomic Pathology skills. Fellowship training in Pulmonary/Thoracic Pathology or Head and Neck Pathology is highly desired. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in other subspecialties, particularly Gynecological pathology, Genitourinary Pathology or Lymphoma Pathology, will also be an asset.

Qualified candidates must be fully licensed or eligible for full licensure with the B.C. College of Physicians and Surgeons and must hold specialist qualifications in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia Bylaws were recently amended (and will come into force on July 7, 2025) to provide eligibility for licensure in the full – specialty classes to physicians who have completed accredited postgraduate training in the US and obtained certification in the US with the American Board of Medical Specialties. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without restrictions.

The successful candidate will be eligible for academic appointment as clinical faculty through the University of British Columbia.

Dr. C. J. Coady Associates is a large partnership of Laboratory Physicians, which has been providing a range of consulting diagnostic laboratory services for over 60 years and currently provides services to 13 hospitals and surgical facilities in the Fraser Health Authority, serving a growing population of over 2 million. There will be expansion of pathology services with the opening of New Surrey Hospital and addition of SMH new tower in the near future.

The Lower Mainland region offers a comfortable west coast climate, easy access to the ocean and fresh-water beaches, mountains, and forests as well as urban amenities and culture.
