Specialty Diagnostic Radiology

Subspecialty Interventional Radiology

Role and Facility Information

The Surrey Radiology Group is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) radiologist to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) in Surrey, British Columbia.

Practice Overview:

The Medical Imaging Departments at Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to one of the fastest-growing regions in British Columbia.

SMH is a 600+ bed community and academic teaching hospital and the largest acute-care facility within the Fraser Health Authority, serving a population of over 600,000. It functions as a regional referral centre for complex and high-acuity care, supporting major programs including oncology, thoracic surgery, trauma, critical care, nephrology, maternal-child health, and one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the province.

JPOCSC is a modern, purpose-built ambulatory care facility focused on high-volume outpatient imaging, same-day surgery, and specialty clinics. It provides scheduled outpatient CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and minor interventional procedures, and works in close integration with SMH to support efficient care delivery and surgical wait-time reduction.

Both sites are supported by state-of-the-art imaging equipment and a highly integrated multidisciplinary team, enabling efficient, high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The Interventional Radiology practice encompasses the full spectrum of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, excluding stroke and neurovascular interventions. The successful candidate will participate in multidisciplinary clinical care, including inpatient and outpatient consultations and multidisciplinary rounds. In addition to Interventional Radiology, the position includes participation in Diagnostic Radiology services at SMH and JP, with practice coverage that may include General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI, commensurate with training and departmental needs.

Group and Academic Environment:

Our 15-member radiology group is built on a culture of collegiality, equity, and mutual support, and is predominantly fellowship-trained with broad subspecialty expertise. The practice offers a well-balanced combination of on-site and remote clinical work, complemented by flexible scheduling. Compensation is highly competitive and based on an equitable pooled group billing model. Through our partnership with the University of British Columbia Department of Radiology, members have opportunities to teach senior radiology residents, with anticipated growth in academic engagement.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
Fellowship-level training, ideally in Cardiothoracic Imaging, Breast Imaging, or Neuroradiology;
Eligibility for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

To apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV and letter of interest. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
