Role and Facility Information

The RCH is a Level 1 Trauma centre. The Trauma Service is seeking a Trauma physician/surgeon. Daily in house rounding on all admitted trauma patients, responding to trauma activations and consult request, resident/fellow teaching, and participation in Trauma Clinic/Trauma Service meetings/rounds presentations/trauma committees are some of the expectations of this position.

The Trauma physician/surgeon manages the trauma service for 7 consecutive days for 6 weeks in the year dispersed throughout the year. Night call during these trauma weeks is required. There is an additional night call expectation, minimum 2 per month during the months with no Trauma weeks.

Applicants must have completed a Trauma Fellowship and ATLS.

Applicants must hold an active position in Emergency Medicine, a Surgical Subspecialty or Anesthesia within FHA.
