Job Summary
Are you passionate about making a difference during the critical developmental stages of life? Do you have a background in pediatric care? We are seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic pediatric orthopedic services. From treating club foot to managing developmental dysplasia of the hip our team is at the forefront of pediatric care. As an NP, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive medical management and care coordination to patients in collaboration with the attending surgeon(s) and interprofessional team. This position will support both Royal Columbian Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Royal Columbian Hospital
As B.C.’s oldest hospital, and one of its busiest, Royal Columbian provides expert care to the province’s most seriously ill or injured. Royal Columbian Hospital also provides a number of highly specialized acute care services such as tertiary trauma, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, interventional cardiology, thoracic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and vascular surgery that often require the care of multiple medical specialists, multidisciplinary care teams and the use of specialized equipment and technology.
New Westminster is located on the north side of the Fraser River with several bordering municipalities in each direction (Burnaby, Coquitlam, Surrey, and Delta), making it the centre of the Greater Vancouver region. The city is only about 30 minutes (20 km) from Vancouver’s city centre and 30 minutes to Washington state, USA. RCH is on the Sky train line from Vancouver also.
Surrey Memorial Hospital
As a regional hospital for Fraser Health, as well as the home hospital for one of BC’s fastest growing communities, Surrey Memorial Hospital is the second largest hospital in the province and provides specialized care to people from across Fraser Health, not only to residents of Surrey.
Surrey is one of Canada’s fastest growing cities and its land mass makes it one of the largest cities in the province, equal to the size of Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby combined. Known as the City of Parks, Surrey has over 6,000 acres of parkland and 15 golf courses and driving ranges. Also, despite rapid growth, Surrey has held onto the rural flavour of its past, with about 35 per cent of its land designated as agricultural and still actively farmed.
