Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Join our mental health team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast! This is a hospital-based position in Powell River, BC, where two full-time adult psychiatrists will serve diverse mental health and addiction needs. Part-time applicants are welcome. Combination of outpatient and inpatient (7-bed psychiatric unit). No overhead. No call. There is an opportunity to choose between solely inpatient or outpatient work. Comprehensive allied health care supports on-site, including ACT, ICMT, counseling, and close collaborative care with family physicians, nurse practitioners and specialists. ECT provided on site. If you enjoy acute and varied team-based work, this position is for you! Applicants with leadership and quality/program improvement experience or training would be a bonus. CME and physician leadership education incentives are available.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 8.82% (physically located in the RSA community). Rural Incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at time of offer.

Qualifications

Education, Licensing, & Experience:

• Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Provisional/Mandatory

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)- Mandatory

• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)- Mandatory

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
