The beautiful community of Masset, BC on the Village of Haida Gwaii is seeking a part-time Registered Midwife to serve as a practice partner in a 2 midwife rural/remote practice in northwestern BC serving the communities of Haida Gwaii, Masset, Old Masset and Port Clements.
Niislaa Naay Midwifery Care operates within a service contract with the Northern Health Authority and First Nations Health Authority and services a diverse population. This contract allows our low volume site to be financially sustainable, with each midwife holding their own “salary-type” contract with NH.
Rural/remote midwifery is an adventure and opens doors to clinical and community opportunities not common in more urban locations. Experience working rurally/remotely and with Indigenous populations would be an asset.
