Hospitalist – Eagle Ridge Hospital

Full and Part-time positions

Fraser Health is seeking physicians interested in working in our hospital medicine program at Eagle Ridge Hospital. Applicants should have a strong interest in acute care hospital practice and working collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team, including other physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and Allied Health staff.

Primary responsibilities include admissions and management of patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP), as well as supportive care for some surgical and specialty medical patients. Applicants should be comfortable working independently with mostly off-site specialty support by phone. Eagle Ridge Hospital is committed to a culture of collaborative, inter-professional, team-based care.

This job requires superior clinical and communication skills, along with exceptional bedside manner and team management abilities. Our team members will be proficient with the range of community resources available, and work collaboratively with community-based physicians to optimize discharge planning processes and patient care planning. Day and evening shifts are 7 days consecutively. Participation in overnight coverage is mandatory, but frequency of coverage is proportional to weeks worked.

Eligibility: Candidates must be licensed or (eligible for licensure) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and have either CCFP (or equivalent) or FRCP credentials. Certification in ACLS is strongly suggested. Hospitalist experience, fellowship, and/or membership in professional hospital medicine societies. Rural medicine is an asset.

Compensation: per physician master agreement

Qualifications:

· FRCPC or CCFP

Experience in rural medicine an asset

· ACLS strongly recommended

· CPSBC Full or Provisional

· CMPA

. CPSBC US certified class of registration acceptable
