Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is currently recruiting for a Radiologist in Prince George, British Columbia. Join a robust team of 6 radiologists, technicians, and support staff at the University Hospital of Northern BC to support our growing practice. Preference will be given to Radiologists who wish to make Prince George their year-round home; however, a blended job plan including partial remote work would be negotiable with a Radiologist that it can meet our patients' needs. There is also opportunity to work in a part-time position providing coverage for example one week on/one week off, two weeks on two weeks off etc.

Radiology services at UHNBC include:

• Breast Imaging Centre with tomosynthesis mammography

• Ultrasound

• MRI 1.5 Tesla Siemens upgrade 2017

• CT scanners multi detector/multi slice/Dual energy

• Nuclear Medicine

• Interventional Radiology

Outreach services to GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel (approx.1 day per month travel is required)

Prospective radiologists should be comfortable with general radiology, including Fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI, as well as basic image guided interventional procedures. A fellowship is not a necessity. Candidates must be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in radiology (FRCPC) and eligible for provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC).

Our group offers compensation for travel and accommodation for new hires and flexible vacation scheduling.

Call: Call responsibilities are split between the group members.

UHNBC is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving the population of Prince George (approx.. 87,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approx.. 400,000). It is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. The BC Cancer Centre for the North is located on the hospital site and includes radiation and medical oncology. The ongoing development of UHNBC as a regional center and teaching center makes this an exciting time to join the medical community in Prince George.

Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for northern BC, servicing an approx. rural population of 400,000 over an area of 600,000 square kilometers.
