The Virtual Hospital program introduces a fresh and innovative approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care to our clients in the Fraser Health Region. It's an exhilarating program where you'll collaborate within a team-based, inter-professional care environment. Care is administered to acute patients in their homes and virtually.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you'll be expected to deliver a high standard of care to adult patients served by Fraser Health as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will encompass consulting at the new virtual hospital, actively reaching out to patients' residences, providing consultation to Assisted Living and long-term care facilities in collaboration with patients' attending physicians, and engaging in consultation liaison within MHSU.

Services provided include assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, conducting family meetings, participating in case conferences, discharge planning, and educating psychiatry residents and medical students.

Additionally, you'll advocate for the psychiatric needs of individual patients and foster continuity of care by maintaining positive relationships with all those involved in providing care and services.
