The Virtual Hospital program represents an innovative approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care to our clients in the Fraser Health Region. It's an exciting initiative where you'll collaborate within a team-based, inter-professional care environment. Care is delivered to acute patients both in their homes and through virtual platforms.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you'll be tasked with delivering a high standard of care to adult patients served by Fraser Health as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will encompass consulting at the new virtual hospital, actively reaching out to patients' residences, providing consultation to Assisted Living and long-term care facilities in collaboration with patients' attending physicians, and engaging in consultation liaison within MHSU.

Services provided include assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, conducting family meetings, participating in case conferences, discharge planning, and educating psychiatry residents and medical students.

Additionally, you'll advocate for the psychiatric needs of individual patients and foster continuity of care by nurturing positive relationships with all those involved in providing care and services.
