Our hospital and community-based services are delivered by a team of 45,000+ staff, medical staff and volunteers dedicated to serving our patients, families and communities.

This position is entirely virtual.

Fraser Health is embracing virtual strategies to genuinely enhance patient care!

The Virtual Hospital program introduces an innovative approach to delivering acute Mental Health and Substance Use care to our clients in the Fraser Health Region. It's an exciting initiative where you'll collaborate within a team-based, inter-professional care setting. Care is administered to acute patients both in their homes and virtually.

As a qualified or eligible Psychiatrist, you'll be tasked with delivering a high standard of care to adult patients under Fraser Health's purview, as part of an interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include consulting at the new virtual hospital, actively reaching out to patients in their residences, collaborating with Assisted Living and long-term care facilities alongside attending physicians, and engaging in consultation liaison within MHSU.

Your services will encompass assessment, outpatient treatment and consultation, conducting family meetings, participating in case conferences, discharge planning, and educating psychiatry residents and medical students.

Additionally, you'll champion continuity of care by fostering positive relationships with all involved in patient care and services, while advocating for the psychiatric needs of each individual patient.
